Welcome and thank you for celebrating with us! This page provides key information for guests attending the 2026 commencement ceremony in Wallace Wade Stadium.
Commencement Day Protocols
Guest Mobile Tickets
All guests must have a ticket to enter Wallace Wade. Graduates should transfer tickets to their guests in advance of their arrival at the stadium. Instructions for transferring tickets can be found here. This will ensure a positive entry experience for all. Guests will not be able to enter the stadium without a mobile ticket.
Guest Seating
Seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should be seated no later than 8:30 AM. Traffic will be very heavy before Commencement; we recommend allowing significant extra time for travel and arriving early to allow for parking and stadium entrance.
Please refer to the Parking & Transportation map and the Wallace Wade Stadium diagram for additional details.
Bag and Other Items Policy
- Wallace Wade Stadium enforces a clear bag policy to help ensure guest safety and streamline entry. All bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and may not exceed 12x12x6 inches. Small clutches or wallets (no larger than 8x5x1 inches), with or without a strap, and one-gallon clear plastic storage bags are also permitted. Bags for medical and childcare needs are allowed but subject to inspection.
-
For full guidelines, including screening procedures and prohibited items, visit the Stadium Entry, Screening & Clear Bag Policy page.
-
Do not leave bags or items unattended outside the stadium. Unattended items will be removed or disposed of by stadium officials. Duke University and Duke Athletics are not responsible for lost or discarded belongings.

If larger items are required for a medical or accessibility needs, please contact Duke Disability Management for additional information and accommodations.
-
Pets are not allowed.
-

Staying Cool in the Heat
We encourage guests to hydrate before and during the ceremony. Water bottles will be located throughout the venue. Sunscreen, hats and sunglasses are also encouraged.
Make sure to wear appropriately cool layers and dress for the weather, which can change throughout the day in North Carolina. Some walking will be required, so comfortable shoes are also recommended.
