Commencement Weekend
May 12 - 14, 2017

Baccalaureate Disability Resource

Where is the best place to park?

  • The Bryan Center Parking Garage (PGIV) will be reserved for those with mobility impairments.

May I drop off my guest with mobility issues close to the service?

What is the easiest path to Duke Chapel and Page Auditorium?

  • The easiest paths to both Page Auditorium and Duke Chapel are the accessible pedestrian pathways from the Bryan Center Parking Circle, Bryan Center Parking Garage (PGIV), and the Chapel Quad Circle. A map depicting the pathways is available here.

Where is accessible seating?

  • Both Page Auditorium and Duke Chapel are accessible for guests needing wheelchair assistance. Due to the limited availability of seating in the Chapel as well as to the fact that guests must wait in line to enter, guests may prefer to skip the line and view the baccalaureate services in the air conditioned Page Auditorium.

What if I have a hearing impaired guest?

  • Assisted listening devices will be available at the sound console located in the back of the Chapel. You may request one there or find a staff member to help assist you.
  • There will be an ASL interpreter at each service that will be visible at the front of the Chapel. This will also be shown in the simulcast to Page Auditorium.
